Website SoftwareComprised of Woodwind, Brass, and Percussion classes, Concert Band is the entry level ensemble at GHS. Student instruction in this ensemble is focused on the development of their instrumental performance, musicianship, and music literacy skills. The group performs intermediate level Concert Band repertoire to continue their development of strong ensemble playing skills.

Also known as Advanced Band, Symphonic Band is the top performing ensemble at GHS, designed for students who have at least 1 year of experience in the program and have successfully auditioned for the band. In addition to continued fundamental development, this group studies band literature of greater difficulty and at an increased pace compared to the other ensembles, focusing on sensitivity to style and nuance in their performance. As a member our premier group, students are expected to be practicing regularly outside of class and attend sectionals as needed; students are encouraged to seek private instruction as well!
